The Wine Scout 20: Bounty of the Hudson - We taste the wines from the Hudson Valley region at the Bounty of the Hudson festival in 2006. We enjoy tastes and dishes from area restaurants, epicurean delights, farm fresh produce, and Live Music!

The Wine Scout 18: EON Cafe, Inn and Spa - This week's podcast is from New York, Long Island. We visited EON a combination cafe, inn, gallery and spa in Southold on route 25. The cafe at EON which stands for Elements of Nature represents locally available products and only Long Island wines, even exclusive to the North Fork. We met with the owner and host of EON, Michael Miller who gives attention to design and details in everything including the cuisine and the atmosphere which has a feel of a comfortable mini-resort.

The Wine Scout 17: Blue Hill at Stone Barns -

This episode of The Wine Scout features an interview at Blue Hill at Stone Barns with guest wine scout Anthony Manson and the sommelier Derek Todd. They discuss the background of the location, the Rockefeller farm located in the Hudson Valley to their food and wine pairings. They also explore the globalization of wine, and their favorite New York selections.



The Wine Scout 16: Martha Clara Vineyards -

This episode of the wine scout takes place at Martha Clara Vineyards, located in the north fork of Long Island, NY off of route 48. We met with Christine Nowack and Robert Kern who gave us a tour and a tasting of their Five-O White and Five-O Red. We also discovered the name Martha Clara is an homage to the vintnerÃ??s mother who ran EntenmannÃ??s Bakery until she was 90 years old.



The Wine Scout 15: Golden Nose Event - This episode of the wine scout takes place at a special event in Corning, New York called the Golden Nose Event attended by our first Guest Pod Scout, Douglas Trapasso from Chicago, Illinois. Douglas did a great job reporting on the event sponsored by the Seneca Wine Trail.

The Wine Scout 14: Glenora Wine Cellars - This episode of The Wine Scout takes us to Glenora Wine Cellars in the New York Fingerlakes. The owner, Gene Pearce teaches us about new technologies used to run a vineyard; and he takes through three tastings including a sapered bottle of Brut

The Wine Scout 13: McGregor Vineyard and Winery -

McGregor Vineyard and Winery gives us a vertical tasting of their outstanding Pinot Noir wines and we visit with John McGregor who shares a historical account of the area winemakers. We also visit Geneva on the Lake situated conveniently to the New York Finger Lakes region.



The Wine Scout 12: Knapp Vineyards -

This show takes place at the Knapp Vineyards on the west side of Cayuga lake. They are known for their super premium red wines, and we feature their unique alembic pot still and the products derived from it. We taste their Sangiovese and their Limoncello.



The Wine Scout 11: Widmer Wine Cellars - The Wine Scout visits the Widmer Wine Cellars in Naples, NY for a tour and a tasting of the equivalent of two wineries in one trip. We visited their brickstone cellars brand and the world famous Manischewitz.

The Wine Scout 10: Americana Vineyards and Winery - The Wine Scout visits Americana Vineyards and Winery on Cayuga Lake in Interlaken, New York. We taste their Revolutionary Red, Cayuga White and Sweet Rosie with a sampling of Homemade Chocolate Fudge.

The Wine Scout 09: Standing Stone Vineyards - We taste three wines at New York's Seneca Lake's Standing Stone Vineyards; Riesling, Smokehouse Red and a dessert wine called Vidal Ice. We discover an amazing Viennese-style restaurant just down the road called Dano's.

The Wine Scout 08: Thirsty Owl Wine Company - We go back to Cayuga Lake in the New York Finger Lakes to one of the newer wineries called Thirsty Owl Wine Company and Bistro. We visit the historic Tiffany Glass exhibited in the Willard Memorial Chapel and explore other sights around the Cayuga Lake.

The Wine Scout 07: 5th Season Food Pairings - We pair food and wine together for a three course meal at 5th Season Restaurant in Long Island New York. Comtesse Therese 2004 Russian Oak Chardonnay, Ternhaven Cellars 2000 Merlot and Duckwalk Vineyards 2003 Vidal Ice Wine.

The Wine Scout 06: Ternhaven Wine Class (part 2) - Wine Tasting Class at Ternhaven Cellars on Long Island. We taste their 2000 Merlot in part two of our demonstration of how to taste wine from experts Lisa and Bernard Cannac of Wine Connection Consulting.

The Wine Scout 05: Ternhaven Cellars Wine Class (part 1) - This episode of The Wine Scout is at Ternhaven Cellars in Greenport, NY on Long Island. We taste their 2000 Merlot in part one of our demonstration of how to taste wine from experts Lisa and Bernard Cannac of Wine Connection Consulting.

The Wine Scout 04: Sheldrake Point Vineyard - This week we visit the Sheldrake Point Vineyard for a taste of their Reserve Riesling, their Meritage and their Ice Wine Riesling 2004 in their spectacular Cayuga Lakefront tasting room. We stay at the John Morris Manor Bed and Breakfast in Seneca Falls, a Greek-Revival home built in 1838.

The Wine Scout 03: Complete Fox Run Vineyards - Completed version. We visit the Finger Lakes region of New York near Seneca Lake. The Fox Run Vineyards tasting of the Riesling was everything the region is known for! We also tasted their delicious Cabernet Franc beside a gorgeous lakeside view. Seneca Falls is rich in history, and we spend some time in the Women's Rights National Historical Park.

The Wine Scout 02: Warwick Valley - We visit New York's first fruit micro-distillery, Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery and taste their famous Doc's Hard Cider and newly released, Bourbon Barrel Aged Apple port. Jeremy serves up their new line of fruit brandies and liquors (Eau de Vies). Further down the road we experience an historic tour of the Iron Forge Inn, Restaurant and Tap Room. Head Chef, Erik Johansen emphasizes local ingredients that reflect the seasons and shows us the Lincoln room, where the president may have enjoyed a meal. We wrap up this episode featuring Warwick Valley Winery's regulars; Red Molly, and their original song titled, Long Island Cowboy.

The Wine Scout 01: Alison Winery Tasting In Red Hook, NY - The Wine Scout visits Alison Winery in Red Hook for a tasting of their rose and their 2002 Cabernet Franc. We visited the Tarapin Bistro in Rhinebeck and the Millbrook Vinyard. This trip to the Dutchess Wine Trail was planned by Debbie Gioquindo from Exclusive Wine Vacations.
